Across Mid-Michigan, individuals participating in Treatment Courts are doing the demanding work of change, addressing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and the behaviors that brought them into the justice system.
We don’t operate Treatment Courts or determine program requirements. Instead, we strengthen the work already happening within the courts by providing financial assistance to participants when unexpected expenses put their recovery at risk.
Our support is practical, timely, and focused by helping participants remain compliant, engaged, and moving forward, rather than falling back due to circumstances beyond their control.
What Support Looks Like
Requests for assistance come through Treatment Court probation officers, who understand each participant’s situation and how targeted support can help sustain progress. Funds are used to address urgent, recovery-related needs such as:
• Transportation to court, treatment, and employment
• Court-required drug and alcohol testing
• Emergency medical or dental expenses
• Short-term housing or basic living needs
• Other critical costs tied directly to program success
These are often modest requests, but their impact can be life-changing.
“[MMTCF] helped cover my testing fees and provided me with a bus pass so I could make it to my job and my appointments.
It may not seem like much, but to me, it meant everything…It meant I could keep my promise to myself and to the people who believed in me.”

Leadership & Stewardship
Foundation leadership and board members bring experience from law enforcement, the courts, healthcare, finance, and community service.
Treatment Court programs are rigorous, structured, and proven to work. But for many participants, progress can be threatened by everyday obstacles they don’t have the resources to overcome alone.
We exist to help bridge that gap.
As President Andrew Bouck has shared, eliminating financial stress allows participants to focus on recovery rather than crisis, strengthening families and communities in the process.
We are committed to responsible stewardship, transparency, and ensuring donor contributions are used where they have the greatest impact.
